An enthusiast keyboard warrior by the name, Theishingkhui Ronra Shimray has landed himself in trouble for a Facebook post where he made a serious allegation about the abduction and murder of Athuan Abonmai over his personal Facebook handle, and Facebook groups.
Thieshingkhui Ronra wrote, “Athuan Abonmai was taken away by Manipur commandos yet, afte his dead body is found there’s a rumour spreading that he’s killed by the NSCN-IM. Where is this rumour comming from who is spreading this, I have this evidence that says it’s Manipur police. If you have news that says otherwise, we are all civilised people, we can understand who is right and who is wrong so, tell us we also want to know.”
Reaching out to the family of Theishingkhui Ronra, his father told that the keyboard warrior was drunk and was careless to have commented on Facebook without any evidence. While speaking to Theishingkhui, he said that he assumed and commented based on the already available video footage. He said he regret what he has done and apologised profusely.
His “careless comments and remarks,” according to his father, was nothing short of an idiotic behaviour.
A screen shot of the original post by Theishingkhui Ronra by now is shared widely in social media.
Chief minister in a press briefing on September 24 extended his condolences to the bereaved family and assured that the family Athuan Abonmai left behind will be taken care of. Manipur government in a cabinet level meeting, N Biren said, will decide extraordinary ex-gratia amount and also the deceased’s children and family will be awarded with appropriate commensurate post, even up to a respectable rank in Manipur police if qualified.
