Liangmai Naga Council (LNC) and Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) have strongly condemned the March 22 incident of Lamhainamdi

In a separate statement, LNC termed the incident as “gory, devilish and barbaric”. It alleged that the perpetrators of the incident used “automatic guns to fire indiscriminately at the helpless and defenseless villagers”.  The Liangmai body then said that such “blatant disregard for law and order and for human lives is intolerable and finds no place in the history of our people”.

LNC then said that feuds and issues “must be amicably sorted out with dialogues and there should be respect for one another, and not by guns and weapons”.

The Liangmai body then urged the Government of Nagaland, law agencies and other concerned departments to nab the perpetrators at the earliest and let justice prevail.

LNC then offered its condolence to the bereaved families.

In a separate press release, Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) said it was shocked to learn that three “innocent persons were brutally massacre at Lamhainamdi village by unidentified assailants” on March 22 ( Monday) evening under  Peren district. The front condemned the incident in the strongest term and urged those responsible organisations or individuals to come out and give a valid reason for their “barbaric and inhuman” act. “Such inhuman act has no room in the civilized society. Rather it will spark  communal tension and bring great disharmony and mistrust amongst the tribes, which may  subsequently lead to tribal feud in near future,” ZUF added.

ZUF then urged the state government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to deliver justice to the deceased families and punish those responsible for their “heinous crime committed against the  three innocent persons”. It appealed to desist from repeating such “barbaric act” of killing innocent people for their “selfish interest” in near future.

ZUF then said that this incident should be a wake-up call to all the rightful thinking citizens to eradicate “barbarism”.

The front then extended its “deepest” condolences to the bereaved families of the three departed souls.
