The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) said it stands committed to the Indo-Naga political issue and will leave no stones unturned to push forth for early settlement to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue vis-a-vis peace process.

The NSF then appealed for peace and unity among the Nagas. It further appealed to all the “Naga Political Groups (NPGs)” and civil society organisations to come together under one table for an early inclusive, honourable and acceptable solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue.

Further, the NSF called upon the Government of India to expedite the process of Indo-Naga political dialogue with the negotiating parties and ink the final agreement to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue without delay.

On the issue of e-Governance, the NSF said it is strongly of the view that effective implementation of e-Governance is the need of the hour which will bring about ‘transparency’ in governance. It also said that access to accurate and updated information in regard to various State Government’s functionaries, departments (including district administration) and agencies, such as schemes and programs, incumbency list, post creations & vacancies, progress report of the department and vice versa, must be made readily available in the public domain in compliance with the laid down guidelines for departmental websites (GIGW), so as to enhance the level of citizen interaction through application of internet and mobile technologies and to ensure that the benefits are accessed by all citizens. In regard, the NSF strongly advocated e-governance as a tool to bring ‘transparency’ as a powerful agent to check corruption in state governance.

The NSF also appealed to the Government of Nagaland not to shut down stationery shops and bookstores during the lockdown in order to readily make accessible the basic needs and requirements of the students’ community.

While appreciating the State Government, frontline workers for their tireless efforts and services rendered during the COVID-19 pandemic, the student body urged upon the State Government to maintain transparency in utilisation of COVID-19 funds.
