Offices in Tamenglong closed due to ATSUM agitation

Offices in Tamenglong HQ including Mini Secretariat at the outskirt of town were shut down by All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) today. The agitation was carried out against the delay of conducting of ADC Election in Hill Districts of Manipur. No untoward incident occurred in the agitation.

According to reliable source, amidst agitation ATSUM leaders held meeting with state government representatives at Conference hall, TA & Hills department at around 11:30 am but failed to reach positive conclusion.

Therefore, agitation and picketing of government offices will continue even in the following day, Tuesday as announced, ATSUM notified, including the clarion call to All Naga Student Association Manipur (ANSAM), and the tribal populace for a mass rally in the hill districts of Manipur on April 8 to intensify the agitation.
