SBI Staff Ukhrul Tested COVID-19 Positive; Whole Building of Mini Secretariat Declared Containment Zone

Following Covid-19 positive detection of one State Bank of India (SBI) staff, the whole building of mini-Secretariat Ukhrul has been declared containment on Wednesday.

A lady employee of SBI Ukhrul branch tested Covid positive. It was reported that she came and withdrawn her money and had left for her husband testing. The employee along with five of her family members had been tested positive. She reported for bank duty on Friday and was found to be infected on contact tracing test. Those who had came into contact with her need to be isolated and get tested, said district surveillance officer Ukhrul.

In view of the impending threats of the pandemic in the area and to prevent spread of the disease, Assistant Commissioner of Ukhrul district, Kachamthai Faiga Gangmei, in exercise of the power conferred upon him, had ordered to sealed, barred entry and exit of population from the mini-Secretariat Ukhrul with immediate effect.

Any person, institution, or organization found violating the above measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the order stated.
