Sword Vashum graces opening ceremony of the 17th Luiha Trophy

Paorei: The official opening ceremony of the 17th Luiha trophy was held today at Paorei village. The trophy for football and basketball has been scheduled for 3 days starting from January 5-8.

The tournament is organized by Paorei Youth and sponsored by the Pheirei clan. 16 teams from different villages – Phungcham, Halang, Peh, Paorei and Hungpung (Kaziphung) are participating in the tournament.

Sword Vashum, intending MLA candidate for 45-Chingai (ST) for Congress party graced the opening ceremony as chief guest.

Speaking at the event, Sword Vashum shared the importance of youth in shaping the future and advised not to sleep away at this hour but wake up to realise the present situation and march ahead for the best in every walk of life.

“We Tangkhul have to specialise in every field and for that we as a people have to develop and go ahead first,” asserted Sword Vashum.
