Kangpokpi: In continuation of declaration of 48-hour total shutdown from November 1 called by Committee on Tribal Unity within the areas predominantly occupied by the Kuki-Zo tribals, the womenfolk of Kuki-Zo community gathered to protest against the deployment of “Meitei insurgents” in the guise of state police commandos in Moreh, and the immediate removal from Kuki-Zo areas, said CoTU.

The womenfolk of Kuki-Zo is constrained to sit-in protest until the government of Manipur reconsiders the matter, added CoTU.
The 48-hour total shutdown imposed by the CoTU is effective from Nov 2, 6 am and will end on Nov 4, 6 am.

Kuki-Zo community staged sit-in protests today at Kangpokpi headquarters, Gamgiphai, Sapormeina, Saikul, Leimakhong simultaneously in a show of solidarity with their fellow Kuki-Zo’s in Moreh township under Tengnoupal district.
The Committee on Tribal Unity in a press conference on Wednesday had alleged that the, “Meitei insurgents disguised as special commandos, burnt down several houses and vehicles, looted many houses including church offerings at Sinam village along Imphal-Moreh road.”
