7th Edition of Edu-Fest Begins in Ukhrul

Ukhrul: The 7th edition of Edu Fest 2024 organised by the North East Foundation for Education and Culture (NEFEC) in collaboration with the District Administration of Ukhrul kickstarted on Thursday at Jubilee Hall of UBC, Ukhrul Headquarters.

The State Level competition will conclude on October 19, 2024 at Ukhrul Headquarters. Dinringam Kamei, SDO of Ukhrul, attended the opening ceremony as Chief Guest.

“Edu Fest symbolizes the power of ideas, exploration and the endless aspiration for knowledge. In this fast-changing world, education is no longer confined to textbooks or classrooms. It is a journey that empowers us to think critically, solve problems and win the battle tomorrow. Edu-Fest is a platform for thinking and learning, whether in the field of science, exhibition or any other. Every activity teaches us the importance of teamwork, innovation and passion. This is not just about a festival. It is a platform for students and teachers alike to come together and inspire one another, ” stated Dinringam Kamei. He lauded the Organisor and extended best wishes to all the participants.

SDO Dinringam Kamei and SDC of Ukhrul, Riamei Jangmei gave away the prizes to the winners and position holders of the NEFEC Olympiad 2024. In the NEFEC Olympiad 2024, a total of 645 students from classes VI, VII, and VIII appeared in the competitive exam.

Vareishang Phungshok, Programme Manager and Co-Founder of URA Trust – a Certified Career Counselor, gave a speech on career guidance.

The three-day education festival will provide students the opportunity to compete in eleven disciplines, viz- Quiz, Spelling Bee (2 Categories), Painting (3 categories), Creative Writing, Extempore Speech, My Dream (Futurological Project), Mini Marathon: Run for Peace (2 categories), Mime, Singing (Acapella), Choreography and Cultural Show. Around 370 participants from 15 schools will be competing in the event and will wind up on October 19, 2024.
