Kohima: Kawimaningsiliu, 21 years old from Peren district of Nagaland was crowned Miss Nagaland 2021 in a ceremony held at Regional Centre of Excellence for Music & Performing Arts (RCEMPA) on December 21 evening.


Miss Nagaland won a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh besides becoming the brand ambassador of Task Force for Music & Arts (TaFMA), and will also receive allowance for a year. She will also be the SVEEP State Election Icon, Chief Electoral Office, along with gift hamper from Atomy India, Liso an a gift hamper worth Rs. 10,000 from Salon Blue. She also won the sub-title ‘Queen of Hearts.’ 
Miss Nagaland 2021 was organised by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) under the theme “Grace and Beauty- The woman in you.”


Lika Chophy, 22 years old, daughter of Yeluto Chophy from Zunheboto district  was crowned the first runner-up. She also bagged another subtitle “Miss Perfect 10.” She walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 70,000. She will also be the SVEEP District Election Icon, CEO, along with gift hampers from Atomy India and Liso.

Lovi Awomi 19 years old from Dimapur district was crowned the second runners up. She also won the subtitle “Miss Beautiful Skin.” She was awarded Rs. 50,000 and an additional Rs.10,000 for the subititle. She will also be the SVEEP District Election Icon, CEO.


The host for the event was Zuchobeni Tungoe, along with Imna Jamir as the announcer, Theja Sekhose as show choreographer, Alemla Ozukum as the official designer, Jhonny D’Ascoli as the hair & make-up artists and Gifted Creations as the jewellery designer. Earlier during the programme, the Managing Director of Atomy India addressed the pageant. 

The judges of the event were Maria Chanu Pangambam, Femina Miss India 2020, Pranita Chetri, Miss Sikkim 2021, Moalong Yaden, Dr Andrew Ahoto and Sentienla Pongen Ezung.
In an address by the Coordinator of BASN, Tiarenla Jamir said that the Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) registered as a non-profitable organisation in 1991 under the guidance and initiative of Alemtemshi Jamir (IAS) and Banuo Z. Jamir (IAS), both former Secretary of Nagaland.


Jamir informed that the BASN with the completion of its 30th anniversary, aims to promote conscious appreciation of beauty to expound and propagate the aesthetic values of mankind, to develop and promote art and to enrich consciousness of cultural heritage.
