Imphal: In yet another blow to N Biren Singh-led BJP government in Manipur, another BJP MLA Paonam Brojen Singh from Wangjing-Tentha assembly has tendered his resignation from the chairman post Manipur Development Society (MDS) on Thursday.

The decision for his resignation was cited as ‘personal grounds’.

“I tender my resignation from the post of chairman of Manipur Development Society (MDS) due to some personal grounds,” Brojen stated in his resignation letter submitted to chief minister N Biren Singh Thursday.

Brojen also shared a video clip where he expressed his strong resentment when the CM failed to keep the assurance he had kept. The MLA alleged of not releasing bills for the road development works to the tune of Rs 5 crore taken up in his constituency before 2022 despite repeated assurance from the N Biren Singh.

The crack within the party appeared when Heirok MLA Thokchom Radheshyam Singh, former education minister, resigned from the post of adviser to the chief minister N Biren Singh, stating lack of assigning any responsibility as an adviser to the CM on April 13.
