NSCN-IM and NGBF meeting: For Reconciliation and Unity

DIMAPUR: The NSCN-IM and the  Nagaland Goan Buras Federation (NGBF) have resolved on Friday to strengthen the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talks and “seek for an honourable, acceptable, early and lasting solution”.

According to a press release issued by the NSCN-IM, leaders of NGBF and NSCN-IM held a consultative meeting at Niathu Resort in Dimapur and appreciated each other’s efforts and contributions towards finding a political settlement for the Naga people.

The meeting then resolved “to strengthen the on-going Indo-Naga peace talk and seek for an honourable, acceptable, early and lasting solution”.

The meeting also resolved that the “cry for reconciliation and unity within the Naga family must be respected”. It then added, “Therefore, the effort for all the Naga political groups to come together should be pursued with all seriousness in the larger political interest of the Naga people and her posterity”.  

The NSCN-IM team was led by its chairman Q. Tuccu and vice-chairman Tongmeth Wangnao while the Nagaland Goan Buras Federation (NGBF) was led by its president Shahlem Konyak and general secretary Shikuto Zalipu.

“Issues pertaining to Naga political affairs and the need to come together of all the warring Naga political groups were discussed in great length,” said the statement.
