Three Distinguished Personalities Conferred Honorary Doctorates at Chil Chil Global University Convocation

Ukhrul, May 25: At the 29th Convocation of Chil Chil Global University held on Sunday, three eminent personalities were conferred with the prestigious Doctor of Philosophy (honoris causa) in recognition of their exemplary leadership and longstanding contributions to public service and society.

Dr. John Kim, International Chancellor of the university from South Korea, and Dr. David Wijunamai, President of Chil Chil Global University, jointly conferred the honorary degrees during the convocation ceremony.

The recipients include Sailas Thangal, Additional Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs and Ambassador-designate to Kazakhstan; Dr. I.K. Muivah, Additional Director General of Police; and Lucas Kamsuan, Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.

The recognition acknowledges their outstanding dedication to social service, governance, and national development. Notably, this is the second honorary doctorate for Dr. I.K. Muivah, who was earlier conferred a Doctor of Philosophy (honoris causa) by ITCS in 2022.

The ceremony was held under the theme “Standing in the Gap” drawn from Ezekiel 22:30, with Rev. K. Losii Mao General Secretary, Manipur Baptist Convention as the speaker at Auditorium, CHAMS Campus, Kanglatongbi, was marked by academic pride and celebration, attended by dignitaries, scholars, and students, reflecting the university’s commitment to honoring excellence and service across diverse fields.
