112 Bn CRPF Conducts Fit India Freedom Run 6.0 in Kangpokpi

Ukhrul, October 10: The 112 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Kangpokpi, on Friday organized the Fit India Freedom Run 6.0, as part of the nationwide campaign promoting health, fitness, and cleanliness.

The run, as per press release of the CRPF, which began and concluded at the 112 Bn headquarters main gate, covered a route via the Kangpokpi Police Station. Around 100 participants, including local youths, police personnel, and CRPF officers and staff, enthusiastically took part in the event.

Launched in 2020 by the Department of Sports under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS), Government of India, the Fit India Freedom Run has become an annual initiative encouraging citizens to adopt an active lifestyle. The 2025 edition, held from October 2 to 31, aims to promote fitness and cleanliness through activities such as running, plogging, cycling, and fitness drives. It was launched nationwide on Gandhi Jayanti (October 2) and will culminate with a Unity Run on Sardar Patel Jayanti (October 31), the press release said.

The 112 Bn CRPF Kangpokpi organised the local event to raise awareness about the importance of fitness and well-being among citizens. Officers emphasized that as the most populous country in the world, India must ensure its population is not only large but also healthy and fit, a vision embodied by the Fit India Movement.
