KANGPOKPI: The 112 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), under the aegis of the IG Manipur & Nagaland Sector, organised a Civic Action Programme on January 19, at the Institute for Community Action and Resource Development (ICARD), Keithelmanbi MC under Kangpokpi Police Station and District.
The programme was graced by the Second-in-Command of 112 BN CRPF, Deepak Kumar, as the Chief Guest. Other dignitaries present included S. L. Kamkhohao, MPS, Additional SP (L&O), Kangpokpi; T. S. Baite, AC; Durgesh Dhote, AC/MO; Birendra Kumar, AC and Officer Commanding of B/112 Coy; Inspector Mukaddar Ali, Coy 2IC of B/112 BN CRPF; vice president of ICARD Pu Sanglen Vaiphei; secretary of ICARD Paolenlal Vaiphei; members of ICARD Shakti Sadan; and villagers, including beneficiaries.
As part of the programme, sewing machines were distributed to women who had recently completed a three-month tailoring training course at ICARD. All the beneficiaries belonged to Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) families.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Deepak Kumar expressed his sincere appreciation to ICARD for imparting various skill-development training programmes to local communities, particularly IDP families.
In his welcome address, ICARD Secretary Pu Paolenlal Vaiphei highlighted the organisation’s activities and thanked 112 BN CRPF for its community outreach initiative in collaboration with ICARD. He also appealed for more such community upliftment programmes in the future.
The beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude to 112 BN CRPF and ICARD for providing them with skill training and sewing machines, which would help them achieve self-reliance and improve their livelihoods.
