12th Manipur Legislative Assembly: CM Tables Supplementary Demands for Grants, Approved

Ukhrul, March 10: The 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly continued its 7th session today, focusing on discussions and voting regarding the Supplementary Demands for Grants for the financial year 2025–26.

Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh presented various reports, including the finance accounts from 2023 to 2025, the Report of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on state finances for the year 2023-2024, reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India on General, Social, Economic, and Revenue sectors for the year ending in 2023, appropriation accounts for 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, the 53rd Annual Administrative Reports of the Manipur Public Service Commission, and the Manipur Anand Marriages Registration Rules, 2026.

Discussions and voting also took place for various supplementary demands for grants, all of which were unanimously approved.

The supplementary demands for grants for the financial year ending March 31, 2026, include the following: State Legislature- ₹26,70,24,000; Secretariat: ₹2,55,36,000; Land Resources: ₹4,67,49,000; Finance: ₹8,47,81,46,000; Transport: ₹13,25,45,000; Police: ₹21,02,54,000; Public Works Department: ₹1,45,35,41,000; Information and Publicity: ₹25,00,000; Education: ₹17,86,50,000; Medical, Health, and Family Welfare Services: ₹2,19,25,03,000; and Municipal Administration, Housing, and Urban Development: ₹2,12,75,33,000.

Also, for the Tribal Affairs and Hills Development: ₹1,71,15,21,000; Agriculture: ₹19,78,71,000; Animal Husbandry and Veterinary including Dairy Farming: ₹1,97,10,000; Environment and Forest: ₹1,51,000; Textiles, Commerce, and Industries: ₹2,39,00,000; Public Health Engineering: ₹3,47,68,94,000; Administration of Justice: ₹1,95,24,000; Sales Tax and other taxes/duties on commodities and services: ₹1,15,03,000; Fire Protection and Control: ₹5,00,000; Rehabilitation: ₹2,10,89,91,000, and Minor Irrigation: ₹90,74,00,000.

Further, the demand for supplementary grants are Panchayat: ₹92,82,43,000; Sericulture: ₹38,00,000; Water Resources: ₹1,37,92,37,000; Horticulture and Soil Conservation: ₹6,98,85,000; Social Welfare: ₹14,65,94,000; Tourism: ₹5,99,10,000; Minorities and Other Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes: ₹1,05,07,66,000; and Relief and Disaster Management: ₹56,14,01,000.
