50 Years of Sikkim Statehood Celebrated with Enthusiastic Motorcycle Ride in Soreng

Gangtok, April 26: Sikkim marked the milestone of 50 years of statehood with a vibrant Two-Day Motorcycle Ride, which was officially launched on Saturday at Nayabazar, Soreng. The event was inaugurated by Madan Cintury, MLA of Salghari Zoom Constituency, and is being organized in collaboration with the Soreng District Administration, the Tourism Information Center Soreng, Apex Motorcycles Royal Enfield Sikkim, and the Soreng Tourism Wing (SKM).

Over 250 riders from across India participated in the event, showcasing a diverse mix of age groups and passionate motorcycling enthusiasts. Dignitaries, including Aditya Golay, MLA of Soreng, Erung Tenzing Lepcha, MLA of Rinchenpong, Dhiraj Subedi, DC Soreng, and Santa B Gurung, PI Soreng, joined the ride, adding to the celebratory spirit.

The event saw participation from well-known motorcycle clubs such as Dirty Angels, Kanchenchendzonga Motorcycle Club, Eastern Enfielders Sikkim, Alpine Biking Squad, and Syari Yodha. As the riders made their way through the picturesque district, the event highlighted Soreng’s stunning natural beauty and tourism attractions.

This motorcycle ride is part of a series of events celebrating Sikkim’s remarkable 50-year journey as a state, bringing together locals and visitors to celebrate the state’s heritage, culture, and unity.
