Nearly 25,000 persons have received COVID-19 vaccine in Nagaland till Tuesday. These numbers include 15,700 frontline workers and 9170 healthcare workers.
Meanwhile, Covid-19 vaccination consultation workshop with civil society and church organizations was held on Wednesday at Conference Hall, Medical Directorate in Kohima.
Principal Director, Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Kevichusa in his address during the workshop said that Covid-19 vaccine provides an opportunity to shorten and to end the pandemic. He also said that vaccination is the safest route back to “our normal lives” and urged all healthcare workers to avail the vaccine since February 25 is the last date.
He then encouraged the gathering to be an influencer to support the need to get the vaccines done and at the same time to play an active and meaningful role in promoting the Covid-19 vaccination process a success.
He mentioned that a safe and effective vaccine is being made available for all but will be made in a phase manner. The next phase will be covering for beneficiaries age 50 years and above and under 50 years with associated co- morbidities as per the direction of the Government of India.
Meanwhile, around 100 police personnel receive COVID-19 vaccine during the COVID-19 vaccination and sensitization programme which was organized at PHQ on Wednesday. Director General of Police, Nagaland TJ Longkumer, IPS, was administered the first dose during the vaccination drive.
