In continuation to curb the spread of the deadly Covid virus in Ukhrul District, the surveillance officer in Ukhrul district on Sunday following the sealing of two residents for persons who tested Covid-19 positive, sealed another three residents, taking the total number of containment zones to five on Sunday.
In view of the impending threat in the area, the District Magistrate has declared immediate containment measures in the area to prevent further spread of the disease, ordering for immediate sealing of the house/ compound, barred entry and exit of the population from the containment area, and had asked to initiate active surveillance of Covid – 19 cases.
The three residents sealed off are as follows:
Resident of Luckyson Chawang, Police reserve line barrack No. 1 Ukhrul, Kamphasom.
Resident of Aw Haoreila, Winno Bazaar.
Resident of Sanjana Shill and Sanjana goods and Sports shop, Viewland Zone I.
The updated Covid-19 status report in Ukhrul (ended at 4 pm of May 9) reported 7 positive cases.
Any person, institution and organisation found violating any of these measures shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 188 of Indian Penal Code and Section 51 of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the orders issued by Joseph Pauline Kamson, IAS further stated.
