Manipur government has extended curfew in the seven districts till May 28 as the state sees no respite from the daily COVID-19 surge.
Following a rapid increase in the infections and with a view to check the spread, the state government placed its most affected seven districts –Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul district under curfew.
The nine-day curfew commenced on May 8 was due to end on May 17. However, an order of the state Home department issued late Monday extended the curfew till May 28 with additional permitted activities and restrictions.
