Nagaland extends statewide total lockdown till May 31

Nagland government has extended the existing statewide total lockdown which was due to expire on May 21 to May 31.

The emergency meeting was held on Wednesday at the conference hall of the Chief Minister’s Residence complex, Khoima, under the chairmanship of chief minister, Neiphiu Rio to review the COVID situation in Nagaland.

A press statement from the High Powered Committee on Covid-19 announced the extension of total lockdown in the whole state of Nagaland with existing conditions till May 31.

The High Powered Committee also annouced that schools shall be allowed to resume online classes with effect from May 24 as per the details SOPs to be brought out by the School Education department.

A centralised depot of Oxygen cylinders will be created in Chumukedima Police complex for effecient management of oxygen supply and distribution and to minimise the turn around time in refilling the cylinders, adding that zonal depots shall also be set up in strategic locations across the state, the announcement maintained.
