The Tangkhul Naga Baptist Convention (TNBC) celebrated its Declaration of Co-operative Agreement with Converge Asia Impact Team (Baptist General Conference) at Phungyo Baptist Church (NTNBA), Thahao Ukhrul at 11:00 am today.
The declaration program was attended by the four TNBC Association units, Southern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (STNBA), Eastern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (ETNBA), Northern Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (NTNBA) and Tangkhul Naga Baptist Association (Somra) members, elders, Pastors, Deacons, Former Ex-Secretarys, Former Council President, Former General Secretary among others.
Speaking to Ukhrul Times, the Finance Secretary informed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in this regard was signed between the two parties on July 29 this year. Converge Asia Impact Team could not attend the program because of Covid pandemic travel restrictions, however the team will visit Ukhrul during December, he said.
The MOU signed today is a collaborative partnership for purposes of gospel impact in Asia. Together they will engage in activities that benefit the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of unreached peoples groups, with leadership development, evangelism and Church planting among others.
The Church mission under this partnership is to solely strengthen Churches, training and coaching Pastors, Missionaries and youths in local, regional and global Church mission. It will also target Asian countries such as, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar with focus on Northeastern part of India, Ramthar Kasomwoshi added.
The Declaration of Co-operative Agreement with Converge Asia Impact Team (Baptist General Conference) was administered by Smart Kashung, General Secretary, TNBC along with hoisting of flag, while Rev N Luiram, Former General Secretary (Tangkhul Baptist Long) dehoisted the flag.
Call to worship was initiated by Rev Somi Kasomwoshi, Pastor Ukhrul Town Baptist Church (UTBC). Exhortations was given by Rev Dr Daniel Kashung, Executive Secy STNBA; Rev Soreingam Ningshen, Executive Secy ETNBA; Rev Victor Kamkara, Executive Secy NTNBA; Rev Dr Banner Makan, Convenor, Affiliation Committee; Rev Praise Zingkhai, Former Executive Secy ETNBA; Rev Ningning Executive Secy TNBA (Somra); Former Executive Secretaries from Associations; Rev Prangthoching Ningshen, Former Executive Secy STNBA; Rev E Shaiza, Former General Secy TNBC.
