Chandel: The Liwachangning Baptist Church in collaboration with the ordination committee, Monsang Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) held an ordination ceremony of Ts. Morison Monsang, Pastor, LBC on Saturday at Liwachangning Baptist Church, Chandel. The session was moderated by Rev. Ng. Molarhring.
Rev. K. Losii Mao, General Secretary, MBC was the blessing minister of the function. Rungkham Ngoruh, Chairman Church Board, LBC gave welcome and introduction of dignitaries and religious leaders. Many tribe level church association secretary leaders from Chandel district in particular attended the historic ordination program. It is historic in the sense that LiwaChangning by virtue of being the first Christian convert among the Monsang community in 1924 is finally witnessing an ordained leader in the person of Rev. Ts. Morison for the first time. The need to have an ordained minister was deeply felt by members of LBC as the church is nearing just three years of centenary celebration of being a Christian faith since 1924, Rungkham Ngoruh mentioned in his introductory speech.
Rev. K. Kiirii, convenor ordination committee, MNBCA delivered recommendation letter before the congregation adopted and resolved by the ordination commitee dated 3th October 2021 and 27th November 2021. Morison ministry and contribution in the church ministry of Liwachangning Baptist Church and beyond was acknowledged and accepted by ordination committee for recommendation. He is deserving, as per the recommendation letter.
Rev. Ts. Morison in his testimonial message shared his humble beginning and wanting to aspire for proper government jobs for family security despite being a church leader in his formative years. But God had a different plan for him and his dedication, hard work and commitment was then firmly placed to serve the Lord, he said. He appreciated all the reverends and well-wishers who have supported him in thin and thick times and extended his warm welcome and appreciation for making the ordination program a grand success. He thank the Lord and all who have come for his ordination program. Rev. K.
