UT News Service | Ukhrul, Aug: A lot of North East migrants residing in New Delhi went home owing to COVID-19 pandemic and the national lockdown that followed. A chunk of the migrants consisted of students from the capital.

University of Delhi online Open Book Examination (OBE) from 10th to 21st August 2020 concluded on Friday. The online examination required students to scan their answer sheets and upload them on the university portal which demanded good internet connection and this wasn’t quite accessible for various students residing in villages of Ukhrul district where network connection is poor.

Considering the difficulties faced by the students at large, the Tangkhul Katamnao Long Delhi (TKLD) in collaboration with Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong (TKS) took the initiative of providing Delhi University students an Exam Centre, better internet connection and other stationery items requirements. Students from villages were brought to the district headquarters as giving exam was just not feasible given the lack of facilities in the villages.

TKS facilitated the Exam Centre and few TKLD executives who returned home assisted the students for the rest of the examination period.

A total of seven students gave their respective papers on different days. On August 10, two students gave their exam. Another two on 11th and three on 13th. Three students each on 14th and 17th, and one each on both 18th and 19th. On the last day 21st August, three students appeared the examination.

TKLD extends the warmest wishes to all the students who have appeared the Online OBE conducted by University of Delhi from different places. We also wish more success at your stead as you all continue to pursue for academic excellence in your own field of study in days to come.
