In the incident, two innocent civilians were abducted and life attempt was made on the fateful evening by the Leilon Vaiphei villagers,” the LNKR-M also alleged.

Meanwhile, the immediate intervention of Leimakhong police station calmed the situation to some extent “but unfortunately, the two innocent people were physically assaulted in the police station.” To this, the Liangmai student body strongly condemned. “Considering the whole scenario, the Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi, Manipur, seeks the attention of our Hon’ble Chief Minister to immediately suspense all those police officers involved,” it demanded.

Subsequently, on March 28, 2023, a team of “goodwill mission” from Konsakhul village who came to enquire about the incident was also brutally assaulted by the Leilon Vaiphei villagers at the village, the LNKR-M further alleged. More than 20 people were badly injured and two persons are in serious condition and they are being currently treated at Raj Medicity, Imphal, said the Liangmai student body. “Sadly, the police officers and personnel deployed at the spot were from a particular community which unfortunately has biased attitude towards the Konsaram villagers,” the LNKR also alleged.
