UDWJA to Host Journalists Covering State-Level Shirui Lily Festival 2025

Ukhrul, May 15: The Ukhrul District Working Journalists’ Association (UDWJA) is pleased to announce that we will once again host journalists from across Manipur who are visiting the district to cover the upcoming State-Level Shirui Lily Festival cum 75th year Anniversary, scheduled to take place from May 20 to 24, 2025 in Ukhrul district.

As part of this annual initiative which has been successfully carried out since 2018, to ensure meaningful coverage of the state festival, visiting journalists will be provided with complimentary food and accommodation throughout the festival days.

The hosting arrangement will accommodate up to 50 journalists per day on a first-come, first-served basis. Journalists intending to avail this service are requested to notify and confirm their visit latest by 12 pm the day before. They are also requested to come along with their valid press ID cards for the necessary registration process.

Visiting journalists are required to submit links/ clippings of their published reports/articles on the festival during or after the celebration depending on when they are published. This submission will help us document the festival’s coverage in our archive as part of the initiative.

Through this initiative, UDWJA aims to create a conducive environment for journalists to experience and report on the vibrant celebrations of the Shirui Lily Festival, while also strengthening ties within the media fraternity across the state.
