Ukhrul: The 10th edition of Tangkhul Naga Zingtun Longphang (TNZL) that kickstarted on January 15, 2024 concluded on Monday at Pharung village, Ukhrul.
The closing ceremony was attended by Ringyuichon Vashum as chief guest. Athem Muivah (Retd. IAS) was the special guest of the closing ceremony.
Speaking at the occassin, Ringyuichon Vashum lauded the Organisor of TNZL 2024 and host Pharung for successfully conducting the 10th edition of TNZL sports cum cultural festival. She stated, “we should be prepared and well equiped with the fast changing world. Every participant has performed exceptionally well in the various competitions and appealed the gathering to prepare better for the coming days. Winning is not everything, but the true color of sportsmanship shown by every participants is worth emulating by everyone.”

In the men’s volleyball, Teinem defeated Tashar to win the coveted cup. In the women’s volleyball, Seikhor emerged as winner and Ngainga as runner up. In the tug of war (men’s), the Teinem team was declared the winner after a thrilling and hard fought battle with Sirarakhong team. In the tug of war (women’s) host Pharung defeated Lamlang to crown as the new champion. In the women’s soccer, Phalee defeated Sirarakhong by a score margin of 1-0.
In the much anticipated men’s football final match played between Kachai and Sinakeithei, Kachai emerged as winner by a score margin of 1-0. The winning goal was scored by Somishan Shirik (Jersey No. 19) in the 43 minutes.
In the men’s category of country race, Chihanyo Raman of Phalee, Phaningpam Muivah of Somdal and Tamsem Valui of Teinem were declared the first, second and third position holder respectively. In the women’s category of country race, Raya Muinao of Somdal, Thotyaola RS of L. Phungthar amd Aminao of Tingshong were declared the firs, second and third position holder respectively.

In the quiz competition, Talui took the first position and Tashar Chanhong and Phalee took the second and third position reapectively. In the Youth Parliament, Victor Valui of Teinem was adjudged the winner and Chuiyaphy Rephung of Seikhor and Soshomi Khamrang of Somdal as second and third position respectively.
At the Zingtun’s Got Talent, Honshangphy Woleng of Sirarakhong was declared the winner. Songayai Chahongnao of L. Phungthar and Ngachonthem Vashi of Seikhor was declared the first and second runner up respectively. In the Lungchan Laa, Seikhor team was declared the winner and team from Pharung and Tashar was declared the second and third position holder respectively.
Minister Khashim Vashum also attended the closing ceremony showing his solidarity and concern to the people of Tangkhul.
