NSCN refutes Jamir’s “divisive political narrative”

As regards to former CM’s allegation on “compromised sovereignty, flag and constitution basing on the contemporary reality”, NSCN rejoins that “on this point Jamir is talking about the stand taken by NNPGs, NGBF and other ‘yes man’ tribal leaders attached with RN Ravi’s enforced concept of contemporary reality”.

In the wake of Exclusive Live Talk Interview with Dr. SC Jamir on the 9th November, 2020 by Dimapur Today, NSCN Ao region issued a press rejoinder on Saturday that makes a categorical rebuttal against the “divisive political narrative”. Terming Mr Jamir’s interview as “rhetoric to confuse the Naga people”, NSCN says Mr Jamir no longer represents the Naga people.

In reference to Jamir’s statement on People’s Convention (NPC)’s 16 Points Agreement, the NSCN refutes, “With his archaic brand of politics he discounted the Naga people’s political aspiration and advocated for exclusive piecemeal solution for the Nagas of Nagaland state to protect the rejected Naga People’s Convention (NPC)’s 16 Points Agreement.”

NSCN refutes that Jamir never counted the Naga people’s political aspiration but rather “advocated for exclusive piecemeal solution for the Nagas of Nagaland state to protect the rejected Naga People’s Convention (NPC)’s 16 Points Agreement.” The press statement further maintains that Jamir’s “archaic brand of politics” has naturally brought himself into “direct collision with the Naga people” as he continues to heap insults upon the Naga people who stoutly stood the ground to defend their historical and political rights.

The NSCN statement then reminds that “over 2 lakhs Nagas” have sacrificed their lives for the dear cause of the Naga nation. “Naga people before us went through untold hardships never seen anywhere else in the world. We shall honor their spirits by our commitment to stand for the cause they have died,” it added.

According to NSCN, these are the groups Jamir has invested his energy and time to nurture them but simply to face disastrous ending with him. “He is a man in the twilight of his life and all his misdoings will cast a dark shade that Nagas will keep in record for posterity,” said NSCN.

Reacting to Jamir’s word on “Agreed Position”, NSCN asserts, “This is absolutely true because he and Ravi are the Co-authors of the “Agreed Position.” According to Jamir, the 16 Points Agreement is the first political agreement made between the Government of India and the Naga people based on the contemporary reality and still relevant today. But, according to NSCN, he failed to give evidences to support his claim.

On the contrary, the NSCN further maintains, the 16 Points Agreement of NPC submitted to the Government of India cannot be wished as a political agreement, when the later party (Government of India) never consider it as an agreement, but consider as charters of demand, proposal or resolutions of NPC.

Jamir also stated that NSCN has been talking and discussing about the intricacies of Indian politics and political systems, but the intricacies have already been discussed by the Constituent Assembly with the representatives of the people and argued that it has been incorporated in the constitution of India under the Article 371 (A), the statement added.

Terming Jamir’s remark on the Constituent Assembly “intriguing”, NSCN questioned what Jamir meant by the Constituent Assembly and who the Naga representatives of the people were.

With intention to let the people know the historical truth, NSCN said that during the Constituent Assembly of Independent India, Naga people did not participate as no Naga represented in the Constituent Assembly of independent India as NNC declined the invitation of the Government of India because Nagas had already declared their independence. “So, what kind of Constituent Assembly is he talking about?” asked NSCN, adding that he could not mislead and fool the Naga people.

On the question of Sovereignty, Flag and Constitution, Jamir stated that Mr. Th. Muivah already compromised Sovereignty and clearly stated that Sovereignty was not possible during the 2012 Peace Consultative Meet at AGRI EXPO, Dimapur, which was confirmed by late General Khole Konyak.

“There is no nation without flag and constitution,” affirmed NSCN.  Dr. SC Jamir is reminded that the Naga case has been introduced and discussed in the 54th General Assembly of the United Nations (UN); the Naga political issue was also given due recognition by the six Prime Ministers of India. NSCN is certain that the ongoing Indo-Naga political talks will end with new political arrangement to correct the historical mistakes of the past.

“For the insipid defense of the 16 Points Agreement he cannot heap insult on our most revered AZ Phizo,” said the press, adding, “Constitution and flag were used since the NNC time and Th. Muivah is just asking the Government of India to honor them.”

It is the view of NSCN that there is no Naga who subscribes to Jamir’s myths and political narratives except those pseudo Naga nationalists who want to sell out our Naga political rights for their temporary comfort and “economic packages”.

“Nagas today are faced with the most critical phase of history and, therefore, Ao Region of

NSCN/GPRN gives a clarion call to all Nagas to wake up from mental slavery and stand guard against the divisive forces spearheaded by Dr. SC Jamir,” cautioned NSCN.
