Ukhrul: Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S), inaugurated the Assam Rifles Centre of Educational Excellence at Somsai, Ukhrul. The state-of-the-art facility was inaugurated by Lt General PC Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, PhD, Director General Assam Rifles in the presence of the students attending the coaching and their parents on 22 October 2023 at Somsai, Ukhrul.
The centre will cater for the coaching of 35 female students, from different districts of Manipur, for the prestigious National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) for a career in the field of medicine, which is scheduled to be conducted on 05 May 2024.
The center is a residential coaching facility that not only focuses on preparing students but also on their holistic development, including career guidance and personality enhancement. Students from various communities were carefully selected through a rigorous process, enabling them to excel in their environment and succeed despite challenging circumstances.

During the interaction with the students and their parents, the Director-General of Assam Rifles encouraged them to set aside their communal differences and collaborate diligently to attain their career aspirations. The ARCEE is a joint venture between Assam Rifles and AXIS Bank as its corporate partner and National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO) as its training partner.
