Bangladeshi Owns Land in Tripura’s Tribal Belt? Pradyot Vows to Expose ‘Silent Sellout’

Published on

Agartala, Jul 15: Raising what he described as a matter of “land loss and identity erosion,” TIPRA Motha founder and Tripura’s royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarma on Tuesday claimed that a Bangladeshi national has purchased land in the tribal areas of Tripura and that the property has been mutated in his name.

“I have just got documents today to prove a Bangladeshi national has purchased a land in the tribal areas of Tripura and the property was mutated in his name,” Pradyot wrote on his official X handle.

He further stated that whenever he raises such issues, he is attacked by “few of my friends from Congress and also certain individuals who are today in BJP for personal gains.” “Should I stay silent and see our state lose land inch by inch while people do politics of short term gains?” he questioned, adding that he will release the document on Wednesday.
