UKHRUL, NOV 26: The Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrating its Diamond Jubilee, commemorating 60 years since its establishment on 1 December 1965, with a series of nationwide programmes showcasing its commitment to national security and community engagement. As part of these celebrations, SHQ BSF CI(Ops) Manipur and Adhoc Sector BSF Manipur, along with their under-command units, organised multiple youth-oriented events across the state, including painting competitions, motivational film screenings and weapon exhibitions.
On 25 November 2025, painting competitions on the theme “Nation First” were held at various educational institutions throughout Manipur. More than 350 students took part across locations, displaying remarkable creativity and patriotic enthusiasm. Teachers, village representatives, and school authorities actively supported the activities, with prizes presented to the top performers at each venue. Several centres also offered consolation gifts to encourage wider participation.

In addition to art competitions, BSF units screened motivational films highlighting BSF’s training, duties, skydiving capabilities and the achievements of its canine teams. Students were also briefed on the gallantry of Shaheed Constable Deepak Chingakham of 7 BN BSF, who was awarded the Vir Chakra (Posthumously) for his sacrifice during Operation Sindoor in 2025. Officials highlighted his courage and the subsequent appointment of his younger brother as an ASI in Manipur Police, aiming to inspire the younger generation.
Weapon exhibitions were another key attraction, giving students an opportunity to view BSF equipment up close and interact with personnel. Many students posed questions about weapons, operational responsibilities and career prospects in the CAPFs, which BSF officers addressed during the sessions. Local leaders, youth clubs, teachers and villagers also participated, reflecting strong community involvement.

The Diamond Jubilee celebrations, continuing across the country, underline BSF’s commitment to nation-building, community development and motivating the next generation toward national service.
