Imphal, August 26: The Border Security Force (BSF) organized a mega blood donation camp at its Koirengei camp in Imphal on Tuesday in collaboration with the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), highlighting its commitment to humanitarian service.
The initiative was held under the supervision of Inspector General Ravi Kant, IPS, Frontier Headquarters Mizoram and Cachar. BSF personnel from various ranks took part in the camp, while the Deputy Inspector General, Sector Manipur, along with the Chief Medical Officer (SG), Combined Hospital, and his medical team, oversaw its smooth conduct.

According to officials, 200 officers and jawans voluntarily donated blood during the drive. The blood units will be supplied to RIMS Hospital, providing critical support for accident victims, patients in serious conditions, and those undergoing major surgeries.
Speaking at the event, the DIG, Sector Manipur, lauded the participation of BSF personnel. “Each unit of blood donated today is a gift of life. We are proud of our personnel for their selfless participation. Guided by our IG BSF Frontier HQ M&C and supported by RIMS, this initiative reflects the true spirit of the BSF service beyond duty,” he said.

The camp also underscored the BSF’s guiding ethos of ‘Jeevan Paryant Kartavya’ (Duty Unto Death). Officials said such humanitarian efforts not only serve local communities but also strengthen the bond of trust between the force and the people of Manipur.
