UKHRUL: A coordination committee meeting to reaffirm the Friendship Treaty between three Chakhesang villages of Nagaland—Leshemi, Zapami and Lasumi—and Tungjoy village of Manipur was held on November 26 at Tungjoy village.
The Friendship Treaty, signed in 1982, was established to promote peace and unity among the four villages. The meeting was chaired by P.H. Shesou, with Kedoutsolhi Wetsah serving as secretary.

The programme began with a prayer led by Rev. H. Akha, Senior Pastor of Tungjoy Baptist Church. Senior leaders, including P.T. Daniel, S. Hrai Aloysius, Senokha Losou, P.H. John, Dingulo Khutso, P.A. Thekho, L.D. John, Ngupelo Lasushe and S. Kho John, spoke on the importance of peace and unity and recalled the circumstances under which the friendship treaty was signed.
Following detailed deliberations, the meeting resolved to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Friendship Treaty in 2032. A planning committee was constituted to oversee preparations for the event.
P.H. John was appointed convener of the planning committee, with Neipetso Lomi as secretary. Other members include Neikhape Mekru, Kewekope Marhu, Weprenyi Krome, Wepekhro Wetsah, Rite Khutso, Wezhiepe Zhiemi, Z.H. Dahrii, P.K. Thomas, C.K. Dani, R.S. Sosii and H. Veikho.

S. Kho John, P.T. Daniel, Wepekha Wetsah and Teisongulie Sara were named as advisers to the committee.
The meeting concluded with a benediction by Senokha Losou, the first president of the Zapami Village Organisation (ZAPO).
