Chandel: One-day Seminar on Career Guidance, Health, and Social Media Held

Chandel, Mar 29: The Tampi Youth Club executive members for the session 2024-26 on Saturday organised a career guidance with the aim and objective to enlighten the youths of the village on various topics and issues such as career choices, first aid and the influence of social media and the like.

During the seminar, Rng. Wilson, Lecturer, Living Hope Theological College, spoke on mental health, relationship and social media wherein he said that youths today are easily influenced by what they see on social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp groups.

Due to such influences, it has led to high expectations on relationships and eventual mental issues when such are not met, he said. He urged the youths to stay grounded and believe in the realities for the world.

Guiding them on career, Dr. Bd. Onahring, PhD, MBA enlightened those present on the various career opportunities available and advised them to choose wisely. He also called on them to choose as per their calling and not follow what everyone is following.

Dr. Peivaar Leivon enlightened the gathering on basic first aid, diet and hygiene stating that these are basic for human survival. A first aid can help save lives on many occasions, she said, adding that diet and hygiene are basic for one to lead a happy and healthy life.

Earlier during the programme, Tampi Youth Club president Sr. Warthung McCoy welcomed the delegates and said that the event has been organised by the youth club with an aim to enlighten and motivate the youths in their lives and career. He said the resource persons were deserving of their position and that they would helped in helping the youths decide about their future.

While giving the vote of thanks, Dy. Joyni McCoy, the general secretary of TYC, thanked all those present especially the resource persons for sparing their valuable time to help the youths of the village.

A large of youths from the village including the women society attended the event, making it a huge success.
