Ahead of the native dwellers much revered and cherished Khamor Angkhui celebrations, hectic preparations for the event is underway at Chingjaroi CV.
The much anticipated inaugural ceremony is scheduled on April 13.
Melodious chirping of the seasonal cuckoo (family) bird (Sampheirok and Koktui) in the lush green village corridors amidst the beauty of the sweet spring reminds the native about the essence of celebrating the rich culture passed down by the forefathers opening the door to revisit the sweet fragrance of Yarthot/ Yarnao and young and old alike in colourful traditional attire indulging in pious merry making while sharing and shouldering each other joy and sorrow in the lap of the priceless friendship.
From Atozha Kapang -cum- Khasumi by CV Shanao Long to fame Chingjui indigenous Bread exhibition and other eye catching cultural display will be the big takeaways of this year’s inaugural event.
As part of the Inaugural day special night entertainment package, Tangkhul Film Association will Premier “INING, I PHEIKAR – a new Tangkhul feature film, which will be followed by Musical Nite.
Last year’s celebrations was cancelled at the last moment in view of the Covid pandemic.
To be celebrated under the theme “Cherishing our Cultural Heritage”, Khashim Vashum, sitting MLA of 45-Chingai AC will grace the Inaugural event as Chief Guest, while Wezope Lohe, ADC executive member and Tuizar R. Lawrence ADC member will be the occasion Guest of Honour and Special Guest respectively.
Nizote Mekrishu, Chairman Jessami village Council (JVC) will be the Valedictory Chief Guest.
Renowned social activists, Ashim Pearl will attend as the Cultural Special Guest while SK. Sovi Ruivah will deliberate on the theme “Cherishing Our Cultural Heritage” as Speaker.
To visit Chingjaroi, visitors have two options: one can either ride towards Talui-Hallang -Peh route which is much shorter compared with Razai -Marem – Ukhrul under NH 150.
What to look out: Chingjaroi has plethora of eye catching scenic spots to offer for adventure lovers including the fame Chingjui peak, Akharo, Japan Kafalokatiu, Water falls, Lovers point and many others while offering them a picture perfect view of scenic Poumai region, and a glance of neighboring Nagaland’s mount Saramati and few villages under Phek district.
Euphoric entertainment will be brought by Guests Artistes – Tangkhul Film Association Forum, Somichan Vashum and Nimzingla Horam.
