Citizens of Meghalaya urged to report COVID related rumours

Meghalaya police on Monday urged the general public to report any circulation of any fake news related to Covid-19 on social media or through any other source.

In a statement issued on Monday, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP), GK Iangrai said that citizens can report the same through the Covid-19 Fake News Verification portal of Meghalaya Police https://megedistrict.gov.in/directApply.do?serviceId=1149

The AIGP has also requested the public to verify the authenticity of information before uploading or circulating it on social media as it may create trepidation among the citizens.
