UT News Service | SHILLONG, Aug 19: Due to the detection of COVlD-19 cases/high risk contacts in specified compounds in Shillong, the District Magistrate of East Khasi Hills, Matsiewdor War Nongbri has issued an order declaring them as containment areas.

To restrict unregulated entry and exit movement on site, Nongbri through the notification has declared Musa compound and Gopalji compound at Jhalupara and Goenka compound (Kamakhya Complex) opposite Cantonment Beat House as containment areas.

“Due to recent high risk and low risk contacts  with the COVID-19 cases, the vulnerable and affected areas  require aggressive contact tracing, quarantine, testing and isolation as well as containment in the interest of health of the general public against any possible spread of COVID-19,” said the District Magistrate.
