Meghalaya chief minister Conrad K Sagma, also the National president of National People’s Party (NPP) in a press briefing at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong today evening ruled out any pre-poll alliance for the state general election during early 2022 in his two day visit to meet party members.
Conrad Sangma, NPP party leader in the press briefing assured strengthening the party to win 2022 election in thumping majority. He also dismissed speculation of the party joining hand with other state political parties before the election told he will not do so.
On question asked about the removal of two NPP Ministers from the BJP led coalition government in Manipur, he responded that the decision to remove them was a wrong move.
Conrad Sangma also said any decision pertaining to the NPP party will be decided depending on the political scenario after election.

NPP seen as a potential political party in the upcoming Manipur election, Conrad in the briefing claimed various political party leaders in Manipur have expressed desire to join the National party.
Pointing out the trust deficit between NPP and BJP, Conrad Sangma without mincing his words said NPP is still abiding by its words and that BJP had broken trust between the two parties which once existed.
Earlier today, Conrad Sangma said his visit will look at finalising party candidates from various Assembly segments for the upcoming election. Speaking on those lines, he announced in the evening that 2022 will see more than 30 NPP candidates contesting the Manipur state general election.
