Controversy Shadows Miss Universe 2025; Fatima Bosch wins

UKHRUL, NOVEMBER 21: The most glamorous evening in the world of beauty pageants took the stage in Bangkok, Thailand this year with 120 women representing their countries.

Mexico’s Fatima Bosch crowned Miss Universe 2025, while Miss Thailand gets the Runner Up title.

However, the event was met with a series of dramatic backstage tension.

In a pre-event live stream, Bosch was seen in an altercation with Nawat Itasaragrisil, the National Director of Miss Universe Thailand.  Itasaragrisil allegedly insulted Bosch for refusing to promote Thailand on her social media.

The situation escalated quickly and security was reportedly called to remove Bosch. Later, she was met with support from other contestants who stood in solidarity with her.

Days before the competition, Omar Harfouch and Claude Makélélé reportedly dropped out of judging .

Harfouch resigned from the judging panel alleging an ‘impromptu jury’ pre selected the top 30 contestants without the original eight judges.

He also stated the jury included individuals with personal relationships with contestants raising concerns about fairness and transparency.

The Miss Universe Organization however dismisses all claims.
