CRPF Organizes CAP at Damdei, Launches Skill Development Training in Kangpokpi

KANGPOKPI: In a continued effort to foster community growth and strengthen the bond between security forces and the public, the B Company of 94 Battalion CRPF conducted a mega Civic Action Programme (CAP) today at the Damdei Village Community Hall ground in Kangpokpi district, Manipur.

During the event, a wide array of essential items, including sports materials, school bags, garbage bins, and agricultural seeds and fertilizers, were distributed to the residents of Damdei, Laikot, and surrounding villages. This event marked the third successful initiative in a series of outreach programmes by the 94 Bn CRPF, following previous events at Saparmeina and Khejang. Senior officials confirmed that two additional programmes are scheduled for other locations within the Kangpokpi district in the near future.

Humanitarian Gesture and Skill Development

Adding a noble dimension to the day’s events, B/94 CRPF personnel went above and beyond their mandate to assist a local physically challenged woman facing severe hardship. Through a collective self-contribution, the personnel provided her with a comprehensive kit of daily rations. This spontaneous act of kindness reflects the high moral values and the “Service Before Self” ethos of the unit.

Simultaneously, the 94 Bn CRPF is empowering the local youth and women through a seven-day vocational sewing training program at Gamgiphai, which commenced on January 9, 2026. Currently, 20 participants (19 women and 1 man) from across the district are receiving expert training from the battalion’s specialists. Upon completion of the course, each trainee will be presented with a sewing machine during the unit’s upcoming CAP to support their livelihood.

Leadership and Community Response

The event was graced by Sh. Vinod Kumar (Commandant), Sh. Pushkar Bhardwaj (2IC), and other senior officers of the 94 Bn CRPF. The gathering saw an enthusiastic turnout of village chiefs, secretaries, elders, and hundreds of residents.

Addressing the gathering, a senior village representative expressed deep gratitude to the 94 Bn CRPF, describing the initiative as a “holy and noble event” that brings much-needed relief and hope to the locality.
