CHURACHANDPUR: The 58th Battalion, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) under the aegis of Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF and under the guidance of Range Churachandpur, a Civic Action Programme (CAP) was organised on Thursday at the Football Ground of Gothol village under Churachandpur district, Manipur. The programme was organised with the objective of strengthening mutual trust, cooperation, skill development and goodwill between the local population and the security forces.
During the programme, essential community welfare items, sports items and skill development items, including sewing machines, solar lights and sports materials such as volleyball with net, football with net, badminton rackets with shuttlecocks etc., were distributed to the needy and underprivileged sections.
The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to 58 BN CRPF for this humanitarian initiative and appreciated the efforts made for the welfare of the local population.
Through this initiative, 58 BN CRPF reaffirmed that its role extends beyond security duties and includes active participation in community welfare and development.
The Civic Action Programme was graced by Ghanshyam Behwal, DIGP, Range Churachandpur, as the chief guest along with M Mohan, Commandant of 58 Bn. and was also attended by Aruna Kumar Sajja, 2iC ADM; Randhir Kumar Jha, 2iC OPS; Ajith C Babu, DC ADM; V Narayanan DC QM, Benjamin Seb, CMO (OG) and other officers of 58 Bn CRPF apart from representatives of the other sister organisations, village chiefs, women representatives, youth club members, and a large number of local villagers and students.
The event concluded with the address by the chief guest Ghanshyam Behwal, DIGP, Range Churachandpur. He appreciated the efforts of 58 BN CRPF in organising the Civic Action Programme and highlighted that such initiatives play a vital role in building trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the security forces and the local community. He also encouraged local youth to engage in positive activities nd contribute towards peace and development.
