Five COVID related deaths reported in Manipur on Wednesday

The COVID-19 related fatality toll in Manipur rose to 245 on Wednesday with the deaths of five patients including two women in the past 24 hours.

The COVID-19 infection tally of the state also rose to 24,133 as 193 fresh cases of the disease were detected during the testing of 2,247 samples in the last 24 hours (from 4 pm of November 24 till 4 pm of November 25).

The total positive cases of COVID-19 in Manipur included 20,640 recovered cases. This update showed that Manipur has 3,248 active cases of COVID-19. The recovery rate of the state is 85.52%.

As per the daily update report of the COVID-19 Common Control Room, out of the 193 fresh cases, seven were detected during targeted testing in Lilong and Wangjing-Tentha ACs of Thoubal district.

The fresh seven cases took the total number of positive cases of COVID-19 detected during the Targeted Testing to 237.

After the November 7 by-polls which were conducted amid the surging COVID-19 positive cases in the state, the state Health authorities have been conducting the target testing of one member each of every household in these two constituencies. The same drive was carried out in Wangoi assembly constituency of Imphal West district earlier but the authority is yet to launch the drive Saitu assembly constituency where by-polls were held on the same day (November 7).
