The Union Home Minister, Amit Shah on Sunday laid the foundation of 7 new projects and inaugurated two new projects and launched statewide roll out of e-office. Although the event was scheduled at 10:00 am the Union minister arrived at Bir Tikendrajit International Airport, Imphal Sunday afternoon. He was accorded with warm welcome at Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal.
The 7 new projects foundation laid by Amit Shah are Churachandpur Medical College, IIIT at Mantripukhri/ Mayangkhang, IT-SEZ at Mantripukhri, 3rd Manipur Bhavan at Dwarka in New Delhi, State Government Guest House, Shanglen in Imphal, State Police Headquarter Building in Imphal, Integrated Command & Control Centre, ICCC under Smart City, Imphal.
The Union Home Minister while delivering his speech, said that Inner Line Permit (ILP) is the biggest gift to people of Manipur by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while congratulating N Biren Singh BJP led Manipur government for its tremendous performance in keeping state bandh at bay ever since BJP government came to power in 2017. He addressed in his speech that Manipur was earlier known for insurgency, blockades and bandhs but now most militants have joined mainstream.
Amit Shah was accompined by Union Minister of State (incharge) Ministry of DoNER Dr Jitendra Singh, Chief Minister N Biren, Deputy CM Y. Joykumar, cabinet ministers, MLAs, Government top officials and cops.
The two newly inaugurated projects are Thoubal Multipurpose Project and Bishunupur-Tupul-Thoubal-Kasom Khullen Road, worth multi crore rupees.
