Hema Choudhary since her arrest for making objectionable remarks against people of the north-eastern state, especially Nagaland state, by Mumbai and Nagaland police on July 17 from her home in Oshiwara in the western part of Mumbai city, has been granted bail by Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench on Wednesday.
Justice Hukato Swu, Judge of Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench granted the bail on condition that the accused shall be released on furnishing a local surety and the accused and the bailer would sign a bail bond of Rs 1 lakh each, according to the Court Order.
Her racially abusive video went viral and were met with angers from netizens from across the Northeast and the country.
Choudhary had made the remarks in a Youtube video after which an offence was registered by cyber crime police station in Nagaland under section 153A, 153B and 505 of IPC, the official informed.

Several FIRs were lodged against her from Nagas in Delhi, Mumbai and Nagaland states for her derogatory remarks and hate speech on consumption of dog meat.
Politician Maneka Gandhi earlier in the week appealed and urged Nagaland State government to act on the issue. Authorities in Nagaland government has ever since banned the sale of dog meat and halted trading and supply market chain from neighbouring states following pressure from across the country on social media. Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy, tweet on ban of all commercial import and trading of dogs was widely reported.
The Order further said Hema the accused should not leave the jurisdiction of the Court without prior permission and shall report to the IO, once in a week till the filing of the charge-sheet. The Order further stated that Hema Choudhury be released on fulfillment of the mentioned conditions before the learned Special Judge, ST & SC (POA), Kohima.
