Kidnapping and Extortion Attempt Foiled: Five Members of KCP N-Group Arrested

Imphal: Manipur Police said it successfully foiled a kidnapping and extortion attempt by apprehending five members of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) group. The arrests, as per the Police took place in Kakching Khunou on July 14, preventing a planned abduction for extortion purposes.

The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  1. Soibam Lanchanba Meitei (25)
  2. Soibam Manoj Singh (27)
  3. Heisnam Dipak Meitei (39)
  4. Nameirakpam Nelson Singh (20)
  5. Nongthombam Leishemba (23)

During the operation, security forces recovered and seized the following items from the suspects, said the Police. The recovered items are: Two pistols, each with a magazine loaded with five live rounds; Three mobile phones; Three sets of camouflage clothing; One Bolero vehicle without a number plate

A case has been registered, and further investigations are underway to uncover more details about the group’s activities and any potential accomplices, said Manipur Police.
