The Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) on Sunday called for an indefinite Economic Blockade to Nagaland from November 17, 2020 onwards.
According to KSA the economic blockade is in protest against the unabated illegal encroachment of Karbi Anglong (Assam) land by the people of Nagaland with the support of Nagaland Government and failure of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) and the government of Assam to protect its land.
Sotrosing Tisso, publicity Secretary Karbi Students’ Association (KSA) Central Executive Committee, said that KSA had been demanding re-installation of border pillar whochbwas removed by the Ngaland in Doldoli Reserve Forest with GPS co-ordinates.
The KSA also demanded that the two Nagaland IRBn camp – Inside Doldoli Reserve Forest and Near pillar number 9, should move back to their respective border areas, and the electricity which was supplied by Nagaland Government inside Karbi Anglong should be removed and all the materials of electrification should be taken back.
Further, it demanded for eviction of illegal encroachment in Doldoli Reserve Forest and that illegal encroachment should be stopped in the near future.
KSA also stated that the Government of Nagaland should not interfere in Karbi Anglong Border Development scheme.
