The Kuki Tribal Union, NSCN/GPRN reacting against the “demeaning manner” of the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) September 30, 2020 press note, No knowledge of KTU, it has no mandate of the Kukis even if it exists: KIM, responding sharply on Monday said that “the Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) cannot feign ignorance of the political history of the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) that came into existence much before any Kuki organization like KIM”, adding that it “simply exposed the Kuki’s immaturity and disunity before the people”.
KTU President Lh Paohao, reacting to KIM, the apex organization, said that “KIM and its leaders have no wisdom to understand the height and depth of the KTU, politically and spiritually”.
It said that KIM’s September 30 press note goes “against the interest of the Kukis as KTU has all along been upholding the socio-political interests of the Kukis”, adding that it was a “matter of indignation” for KTU.
KTU in the response, claimed that it “all along has stood the test of time to act boldly as the father figure of the Kukis. Who can stand up to deny this historical role of the KTU?” it questioned.
Concluding the remark, KTU made certain advises for KIM. First was that “KIM leaders and other Kuki organizations not to confuse their political position”. Secondly, that “the Kukis located in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland should understand that confused people are as good as lost people”.
Urging KIM and other Kuki organizations, steering committee member, Lh Paohao said “they must understand their identity and destination and that they should have the courage to face reality of their history and position” added that Kuki community and KIM should stop shouting against KTU”.
“Let the good Almighty God pour His wisdom and political understanding to the Kuki leaders in the days to come”, KTU said.
