Manipur Dominates UPSC CSE 2023 Results with 10 Candidates Making it to Prestigious Services

Imphal: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) announced the final results of the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 on Tuesday. Among the 1016 candidates recommended for appointment based on their performance, ten candidates from Manipur have secured the coveted positions despite the state roiled in ethic conflict since May 3, 2023. This puts the state on the top spot in the Northeast region.

The successful candidates from Manipur [five of whom are from the Kuki-Zo community, one Naga, one Meitei Pangal (Muslim) and three from the Meetei/Meitei community] and their All India Rank (AIR) are as follows:

  1. Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu (Rank 508)
  2. Carolyn Chingthianmawi (Rank 543)
  3. Rahul Hijam (Rank 740)
  4. Heikrujam Prasanjeet (Rank 757)
  5. Chiinzoukim Tungnung (Rank 768)
  6. Syed Sadique (Rank 826)
  7. M Molightson Kanshouwa (Rank 870)
  8. Hatchinghoi Haokip (Rank 898)
  9. S Christopher Aimol (Rank 921)
  10. Dominic Sominthang Haokip (Rank 994)

These accomplished individuals are poised to join esteemed services like the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), among others. Notably, 180 candidates have been selected for IAS, 200 for IPS, and 37 for IFS, showcasing the diverse talents and capabilities demonstrated by the aspirants.

In addition to Manipur’s success, four candidates from neighbouring Nagaland also cleared the UPSC 2023 exam, continuing the trend of excellence from the state where four candidates brought laurels in the last 2022 UPSC CSE result.

  4. Chubalemba B Chang (Rank 915)

Similarly, seven candidates from Assam showcased their prowess by clearing the prestigious exam:

  2. Ricky Lohkar Pradhan (Rank 230)
  3. Ishwari Deka (Rank 320)
  4. Rituraj Sharma (Rank 462)
  5. Bhaskata Saikia (Rank 552)

  7. Azmal Hussain (Rank 1013)

The UPSC CSE 2023 also celebrated outstanding performances from candidates across the country, with the top 10 rank holders being:
