Manipur logs 358 new COVID-19 cases, no death

COVID-19 infection count in Manipur crossed 1.28 lakh with the state reporting 358 more fresh cases on Wednesday.

The death toll remained at 2015 as no death related to the viral disease was reported during the day, for the third consecutive day.

The Health department reported 358 fresh positive cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the overall infection count to 1,28,231.

The count of the active cases also crossed 2000-mark as it stood at 2004 on the day even as 145 patients were discharged on the day after recuperation.

Adding the latest recoveries, the recovery count in the state rose to 1,24,212. The recovery rate of the state further declined to 96.86%.

The daily test positivity rate remained above 14% as it was 14.3% on the day.

As many as 2,508 samples were tested on the day, taking the cumulative number of samples tested so far in the state to 14,98,955.

As per the daily status update of the state IDSP, only one (Jiribam) out of 16 districts of the state reported zero fresh cases with a maximum of 156 fresh cases in Imphal West district.

Imphal East reported 78 fresh cases, 44 in Churachandpur district, 17 in Chandel, 16 in Bishnupur and 15 in Thoubal district. Other districts reported below 10-mark.

Meanwhile, a total of 6630 people were vaccinated on Tuesday to take the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state till date to 24,03,077.

The total included 13,69,680 first doses, 10,24,129 second doses and 9,268 precautionary doses, the Health department said.
