After three consecutive days of recording above 800-mark, Manipur on Friday recorded its daily COVID-19 infection below the mark.
A total of 732 new coronavirus cases detected in the last 24 hours took the state’s Covid-19 infection tally to 47,843, according to the state Health department data updated on Friday at 5 pm.
With 13 more patients expired during the past 24 hours due to COVID-19 related comp0lications, the cumulative number of deaths due to COVID-19 related complications in the state has also increased to 761 on Friday.
Meanwhile, 579 discharges in the last 24 hours took the state’s total recovered cases to 39,480 even as the active cases increased to 7,602. The recovery rate of the state is 82.51%.
The state Health department stated that 731 persons (363 males and 368 females) from the general population and one personnel from CAPF were confirmed as new Covid-19 positive cases.
The positive cases were detected while testing 4,307 samples, taking the cumulative number of samples tested so far in the state to 7,01,485.
Of the 731 fresh cases from the general populace, 213 were reported in Imphal West, 170 in Imphal East, 83 in Thoubal, 73 in Bishnupur, 64 in Kakching, 62 in Churachandpur and 19 each in Kangpokpi and Ukhrul districts. Other districts reported below 10-mark.
Of the 13 deaths reported in the last 24 hours, four each were from Imphal East and Imphal West, two each from Bishnupur and Thoubal and one from Ukhrul district.
