The overall number of COVID-19 cases in Manipur crossed 27,000-mark even as the fatality toll rose to 322 on Saturday.
The daily COVID-19 status report of the state Health department showed detection of 177 fresh positive cases of the disease over the last 24 hours (till 4pm of December 12).
Including the fresh infections, the total number of people exposed to viral infection in the state now reached 27,036. The number included 23,657 recoveries.
The state has only 3,057 active cases. The recovery rate of the state stands at 87.50% on Saturday.
The fresh infection included 24 CAPF personnel and of the 153 fresh positive cases among the general populace, 67 were female.
Imphal West district, the worst affected district continued to record the highest number of fresh cases with 70. Imphal East where 40 fresh cases reported over the last 24 followed Imphal West.
A total of 116 patients including five CAPF personnel were discharged in the last 24 hours after they recovered from the viral infection. The recovered patients included 69 in home isolation.
Two more patients succumbed to the viral infection over the last 24 hours. So far, the pandemic has claimed 322 people in the state.
The 177 fresh infections reported in the last 24 hours were among 2,163 samples tested during the same period. The state has tested a total of 4,49,857 samples till date.
